So much has happened in the last two months since my last post. I will have to think long and hard about what I've done since then to update you.
As a follow on from the last post - I never received the 300 dirhams from the tour company. Needless to say we won't be using them again.
The time flew by while my neice was here and it was with a saddened heart that I put them on the plane for the next leg of their journey. But I will be meeting up with them in Greece in a month so that is a bonus.
Since then I've had my sister and her husband visit also so look out for those blog entries to come.
Then I've been to Turkey and Greece so there will be an influx of travel entries following. Lucky I'm still on holiday and have time to do all this writing. I'm sure I am meant to be a writer full-time.
Since my return last week it's been back to normality for me. I've spent the time catching up with myself after a hectic couple of months. It seems to have been go, go, go.
The heat of the desert always comes as a shock upon return to the UAE. Arriving back to temperatures in mid-high 40's would be unpleasant to anyone but coupled with high humidity it is unbearable. Needless to say most of my time is spent indoors in cool air conditioning. After the heat and sun of Greece this seems unreal but it's life here. It's the first time I've seen the temperature 'feels like' part be well over 50!
Yesterday was one of the worst and I chose that evening to meet my friend for a walk. I was drenched sitting waiting for her to arrive. When she didn't (mixed messages about the meeting place) I wandered off on my own. The humidity was so high that it was difficult to breathe so the walk was a short one around the block. My clothes felt as if someone had taken a roll of gladwrap and wrapped it tightly around my body. Talk about cling! I ended that evening with a few laps of the pool, with warm water, and a soak in the jaccuzi.
I've also been spending the time sorting out my phone and new computer. While on holiday I realised that my IT skills and knowledge are lagging way behind so decided to at least be in control of the one device I use constantly, my phone. A new laptop has seen me loading programmes and all the stuff that goes with it while mastering Windows8. I've downloaded all my photos so the next task is to sort them.
Hopefully you'll get to see some in the next few entries...
